World of Warcraft: Your Guide to Catching the Legendary Riding Turtle

World of Warcraft is a vast and competitive game, but acquiring rare mounts like the Riding Turtle can set you apart. This guide will show you how to add this coveted mount to your collection, leveraging recent game updates to maximize your chances.

The Riding Turtle: A Rare Find

Recent WoW pre-update changes have made solo-only groups possible, opening up opportunities to obtain exotic creatures such as the Riding Turtle and Sea Turtle. These collectible mounts are highly sought after. However, the methods described below may be subject to change by Blizzard, so act quickly!

Unlocking the Treasure: Draenor Angler Achievement

The key to obtaining these mounts lies within your garrison’s waters. Alliance players target Lunarfall Carp, while Horde players seek Frostdeep Minnow. These fish are used to summon Lunarfall Cavedweller and Frostdeep Cavedweller, respectively, which drop the mounts.

Crucially, you need the Draenor Angler achievement (catching 100 of each Enormous Fish species in Warlords of Draenor). This unlocks a level 3 garrison fishing shack, which is seemingly essential for catching the carp and minnows.

Even with the upgraded shack, the fish have a low (3%) drop rate. Optimizing your gear and using powerful boosts will improve your odds.

The Power of Teamwork: Raiding for Mounts

Previously, only the player who tagged the Cave Dweller received rewards. However, the latest patch allows raid groups of up to 40 players to share the loot! This significantly increases your chances of obtaining the Riding Turtle or Sea Turtle.

While the Draenor Angler achievement isn't mandatory for joining a raid, contributing to the group's fishing efforts is essential. Groups may be hesitant to include players who cannot catch their own fish. Finding a welcoming group or forming your own is highly recommended.

Seize the Opportunity

The combination of increased group participation and the low individual drop rates (previously 3% for the fish and 0.5% for the mount from the Cave Dweller) now presents a much higher probability of success. Don't miss out on this enhanced opportunity to acquire the legendary Riding Turtle!
