Palworld Dating Sim: Real Game, Not an April Fools' Joke

Developer Pocketpair has exciting news for fans of their massively popular monster-catching universe: they've announced Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim that adds a romantic twist to the Palworld experience. Announced on March 31, this isn't an April Fools' Day prank, despite the timing causing some initial skepticism among fans.

Pocketpair is keen to reassure everyone that Palworld! More Than Just Pals is a legitimate project. The concept originated from their 2024 April Fools' Day stunt, which jokingly introduced the idea. Now, it's coming to life and will be available on PC via Steam at a yet-to-be-announced date.

This new addition to the Palworld universe promises a unique experience at Palagos Private Academy, where players enroll as a transfer student. Here, they can befriend and potentially fall in love with a diverse cast of student Pals, including characters like the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet, familiar names from the original Palworld game.

"Enroll as a transfer student in the prestigious Palagos Private Academy, where you'll meet unique friends (pals) and navigate school life through friendship and romance," Pocketpair explains. Players will have the freedom to choose their path, whether it's maintaining friendships, pursuing romance, or even taking a more... unconventional approach with their Pals.

Bucky from the Palworld team confirmed the legitimacy of the announcement on social media, stating, "This doesn't concern April Fools :)."

As Palworld itself celebrates its one-year anniversary and continues to roll out updates, including recent additions like crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, and a photo mode, fans have plenty to look forward to. There's also a glimmer of hope for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Palworld, and perhaps Palworld! More Than Just Pals might make its way to the console in the future.
