We Are Muesli Debuts Narrative Mobile Game

Independent studio We Are Muesli has revealed a new narrative-driven game titled In Their Shoes, slated for a 2026 launch on mobile and PC. The game has already received a nomination for the 'A MAZE. 2025' independent and arthouse games award in Berlin.

In Their Shoes: A Narrative Game Focused on Listening

Set in contemporary Milan, a city rich with contrasts, the game immerses you in the lives of seven distinct characters. Through 49 brief interactive stories—each referred to as a Moment—you gain insight into a day in someone’s life.

With each Moment, you engage with a character's uncertainties, daily rituals, and snap judgments. Some Moments unfold gradually, letting you reflect alongside the character. Others require quick reactions, echoing the pace of real-life situations.

Unlike many narrative games, In Their Shoes doesn’t follow a strictly linear storyline. As you connect the scattered stories, you gradually uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character, creating an authentic slice-of-life experience.

Meet We Are Muesli

We Are Muesli has a strong history of blending art with narrative. Based in Milan, Italy, the studio has been producing thought-provoking, educational games and projects since 2013.

Their previous titles include experimental visual novels like CAVE! CAVE! DEUS VIDET. and Venti Mesi, artistic cooperative projects like Siheyuan, and narrative-driven escape rooms such as Ludmilla and Ventiquattro Elle.
