NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from a keyboard and mouse, is considered cheating due to the unfair advantage they provide, particularly in competitive modes with auto-aim.
NetEase employs advanced detection tools to identify adapter usage with high accuracy, resulting in account suspensions for violators. The company explicitly states that these devices create an unacceptable gameplay imbalance.
Separately, Marvel Rivals players have reported a correlation between higher FPS and increased ping. While the effect might be subtle at lower pings, a jump from, say, 90ms to 150ms can severely impact gameplay. The cause appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this issue, players are advised to experiment with their FPS settings, with some suggesting a target of around 90 FPS as a potential workaround, although this may seem counterintuitive to players accustomed to higher frame rates in other games.
