Today's reveal doesn't stop at new cards—it showcases some special features of the set as well. One standout is the introduction of Summons, which are part of Magic's first-ever Saga creatures that players can call upon for assistance during battles, as exemplified by Summon: Shiva in the gallery. The set also brings back double-faced cards, a fan-favorite mechanic, which you can see in action with Cecil's two sides: Dark Knight and Redeemed Paladin.
The Final Fantasy set promises to be a treasure trove for enthusiasts, featuring over 100 legendary creature cards, including 55 legendary borderless cards. These are crafted by fan-favorite artists from across the Final Fantasy series, ensuring a truly immersive experience.
This set is not only a collector's dream but also fully draftable and Standard-legal. It will launch alongside four preconstructed Commander decks, each themed after a different Final Fantasy game: 6, 7, 10, and 14. These decks, comprising 100 cards each, will blend new Final Fantasy cards with existing cards that have been given a fresh Final Fantasy-themed art. Mark your calendars—Magic: The Gathering's Final Fantasy set is set to hit the shelves on June 13.
