Robot Squid has taken a bold new direction with this sequel. Instead of the original’s chaotic 100-player battle royale set in a wild tidepool environment, *Invasion* shifts gears into a real-time strategy (RTS) format. Think of it as an evolution from free-for-all crab fights into structured, tactical warfare—like turning a crab-based *Fortnite* into a crab-based *Starcraft*.

You’re still leading crabs into battle, but now you do it with strategy. Matches are fought across linear battlefields where you deploy units like standard crab soldiers, catapults, and clawed mace tanks. Your goal? The game is currently available in select regions such as Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Singapore. For the rest of the world, global Android release day is just around the corner—May 30th. While it functions as a spin-off to the original, it also builds upon the legacy of *King of Crabs*, which debuted in 2020 as the first title from UK-based indie studio Robot Squid, founded in 2018.
