The creator of Resident Evil recently expressed strong support for a Killer7 sequel during a presentation, igniting excitement among fans of the cult classic. This article delves into the conversation between the two game development luminaries.

Mikami and Suda Hint at a Killer7 Sequel and a Complete Edition

Killer7: Beyond or Killer11?

During a recent Grasshopper Direct, Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil) and Goichi "Suda51" Suda discussed the possibility of both a Killer7 sequel and a complete edition of the game. While the presentation primarily focused on the upcoming Shadows of the Damned remaster, the conversation shifted to future projects. Mikami openly stated his desire for a Killer7 sequel, calling the original one of his personal favorites.

Suda51 mirrored Mikami's enthusiasm, suggesting the possibility of a sequel, even playfully proposing titles like "Killer11" or "Killer7: Beyond."

Killer7, a 2005 action-adventure title for GameCube and PlayStation 2, blends horror, mystery, and Suda51's signature over-the-top style. The game follows Harman Smith, a man with seven distinct personalities, each wielding unique abilities. Despite its cult following, a sequel has remained elusive. Even after a 2018 PC remaster, Suda51 expressed interest in revisiting the original vision, suggesting a "Complete Edition" to expand on the game's story.

Mikami jokingly dismissed the Complete Edition idea, but the discussion revealed plans for restoring extensive dialogue for the character Coyote, a potential feature for such a release.

The prospect of a sequel or a complete edition has energized fans. While specifics remain unconfirmed, the developers' enthusiasm alone fuels anticipation for the future of Killer7. The final decision, according to Suda51, rests on whether a "Killer7: Beyond" or a Complete Edition will come first.
