Warner Bros. Discovery Confirms Hogwarts Legacy Sequel
A Sequel Expected Within a Few Years
The sequel to the hit Harry Potter action RPG, Hogwarts Legacy—which has sold over 24 million copies—is officially in the works. Warner Bros. Discovery CFO, Gunnar Wiedenfels, announced the sequel's high priority during the Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, as reported by Variety.
Wiedenfels stated that a Hogwarts Legacy successor is "one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road," emphasizing the game's significant contribution to the company's future growth.
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Games' David Haddad highlighted the game's remarkable replayability as a key factor in its success, noting that "Many players have gone back and played the game more than once." He also praised the game for its innovative approach to the Harry Potter universe, allowing players to immerse themselves in the story as themselves. This immersive experience, Haddad believes, is what truly resonated with fans and propelled Hogwarts Legacy to the top of the sales charts, a position typically held by established franchises' sequels.
Game8 was particularly impressed by Hogwarts Legacy's stunning visuals, describing it as the most visually captivating Harry Potter experience for fans. For a complete review, please follow the link below.
