Helldivers 2 Game Updates

Helldivers 2 receives continuous updates featuring balancing adjustments and new content like weapons and equipment. The February 2025 Servants of Freedom Warbond delivered an arsenal of new weapons, armor, cosmetic items and additional content. Meanwhile, the August 2024 Escalation of Freedom update dramatically increased difficulty levels with challenging new missions, objectives, gameplay tweaks and enemy types.

Omens of Tyranny Update

The surprise Omens of Tyranny expansion debuted during The Game Awards 2024, bringing back the long-lost Illuminate faction - unseen since the original Helldivers game. These psychic enemies brainwash civilians into becoming "The Voteless," turning them against Super Earth's democratic principles. The update also introduces urban combat scenarios across Super Earth's besieged colonies.

This expansion introduces a new squad deployment option - the Fast Recon Vehicle (FRV). This transport stratagem allows entire squads to traverse the battlefield together while maintaining offensive capabilities during movement.

Helldivers 2 Warbonds

Launched on March 20, 2025, the Borderline Justice Warbond adds permanent progression content to Helldivers 2. Unlike timed battle passes, Warbonds remain permanently available, letting players unlock rewards at their own pace through earned medals.

This Wild West-themed pack includes:

R-6 Deadeye lever-action rifle
LAS-58 Talon energy revolver
TED-63 Dynamite explosive
LIFT-860 Hover Pack mobility stratagem

New armor sets feature the GS-17 Frontier Marshal (medium) and GS-66 Lawmaker (heavy), both equipped with the Gunslinger perk boosting reload speed and weapon handling. The Warbond also offers cosmetic items including capes, banners and the stylish "Tip Hat" emote. Priced at 1,000 Super Credits (earnable in-game or via purchase), rewards are unlocked through mission medals.
