Global Marketing Campaign Imminent

Grand Theft Auto 6 appears to be entering its final stages as Rockstar Games posts new roles in Quality Assurance and Release Management. The company's official career page shows multiple openings for Marketing Localization QA Testers across various countries.
These positions cover Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Poland, China, Spain, and Latin America. The 12-month fixed-term contracts based in Rockstar's London office align with GTA 6's expected release window. While temporary QA and localization roles are standard in the industry, and Rockstar hasn't confirmed these are for GTA 6, such hiring typically indicates an upcoming major release.
Unless Rockstar has other titles scheduled within the next year, these developments strongly suggest GTA 6 is approaching completion with its release date firmly set.
Potential Mobile Companion App in Development

Beyond QA positions, Rockstar is also seeking a Mobile Engineer for their Scotland office. The role requires "strong iOS and/or Android development skills to help build and maintain our mobile platform, including SDK and build systems." Industry observers speculate this could point to a companion app for GTA 6, following Rockstar's established pattern.
The studio previously launched the "iFruit" app alongside GTA 5 in 2013, allowing players to customize vehicles and interact with Franklin's dog, Chop. Similarly, the Red Dead Redemption 2 Companion App released in 2018 featured an interactive map, Arthur's journal, and game manual.

Given teasers suggesting social media will play a significant role in GTA 6, a companion app seems likely. Developers could expand upon the "LifeInvader" feature from iFruit, which parodied social networks within the game's universe.
With the release date confirmed, Rockstar is clearly preparing for global promotion and related activities. GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on May 26, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. For continuous updates about the game, explore our related coverage below!
