Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past and Festive Cheer!

Fortnite's newest update brings back beloved items, including the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad, delighting long-time fans. A recent hotfix for the OG mode also reintroduces the nostalgic Cluster Clinger. Meanwhile, the Winterfest event continues to deliver holiday cheer with quests, festive items like Icy Feet and Blizzard Grenades, and exciting skins featuring Mariah Carey and other iconic characters.

December is proving to be a busy month for Epic Games and Fortnite, with a steady stream of new skins and the annual Winterfest celebration. Winterfest blankets the island in snow, adding event quests and new items such as Icy Feet and Blizzard Grenades. Players can earn rewards from the Cozy Cabin and unlock premium skins, including those of Mariah Carey, Santa Dogg, and Santa Shaq. Beyond the holiday festivities, Fortnite boasts collaborations with Cyberpunk 2077, Batman Ninja, and more. The OG mode also receives updates.

A recent hotfix for Fortnite's OG mode marks the return of the Launch Pad, a classic Chapter 1, Season 1 item. This iconic traversal tool, predating other movement options, allowed players to gain an aerial advantage or make a swift escape.

Fortnite Revives Classic Weapons and Items

  • Launch Pad
  • Hunting Rifle
  • Cluster Clinger

The Launch Pad isn't the only returning item. The Hunting Rifle (originally from Chapter 3) provides long-range combat options, particularly appreciated by players who miss the sniper rifles removed in Chapter 6, Season 1. Cluster Clingers (Chapter 5) also make a comeback, appearing in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.

Fortnite OG's popularity is undeniable, with 1.1 million players joining in the first two hours of its launch. Alongside the game mode, an OG Item Shop was introduced, offering classic skins and items for purchase. However, the return of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among players.
