"Final Fantasy Starter Kit Preorders Restocked on Amazon"

Authore: LucyUpdate:May 24,2025

One of the most thrilling trading card crossovers in recent years is about to hit the market. The much-anticipated Magic: The Gathering - Final Fantasy set is set to release on June 13, 2025. Currently, the only product still widely available from major retailers is the Starter Kit, now restocked and available for preorder at Amazon for just $19.87. For those in the UK, it's available for £15.99. With other sets sold out and some individual cards already fetching over $500, it's wise to secure your preorder before they disappear quicker than a Chocobo on the run.

The buzz around this set has been building since its announcement, and a new trailer has only heightened the excitement. In the singles market, prices are soaring, with the borderless version of Cloud, Midgar Mercenary, listed at $147.23, while its Surge Foil counterpart commands a staggering $599, making it the priciest card in the entire Final Fantasy set.

If you've already preordered or are scouting for rare singles, keep an eye on standout cards like the visually stunning borderless Kefka, Court Mage, showcased in the new MTG teaser trailer from PAX East and illustrated by the legendary Final Fantasy artist, Yoshitaka Amano.

TCG Player is an excellent resource for a wide range of individual cards, allowing you to enhance your deck without relying on luck from booster packs. It's also useful for tracking the value of your cards post-release, especially if you manage to pull any Surge Foil cards from your preorders, which could significantly boost your collection's worth. Keep in mind that card prices can fluctuate, so some may change in value as the release date approaches.

Other notable cards to watch for in booster packs or to purchase as singles include the Cloud, Ex-Soldier Commander card, currently priced at $45.99. This card's value is evident due to its ability to equip other creatures on the field. Additionally, the full-art version of Yuffie Kisaragi - Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow, is nearing $100, prized for its use as a Commander and its rarity, especially with its iconic late 90s FF7 art style.

Special cards can be particularly pricey, such as the $599 Cloud, Midgar Mercenary card and the borderless Traveling Chocobo, which costs $169.98. A teaser trailer featuring a limited edition Gold Chocobo was also released for these new cards.

While the hunt for the rarest cards can be costly, TCG Player offers many affordable options, including Sazh's Chocobo for $1.96, Tonberry for $2.49, Summon: Shiva for $1.56, and Gladiolus Amicitia for just 33 cents.

TCG Player also hosts preorders for select Final Fantasy booster sets, although at prices above MSRP. The nine-booster Final Fantasy bundle (plus bonus cards) is available for $87.99, while the 30-pack Play Booster Display box is priced at $164.99, both plus shipping. Single sealed boosters are listed at $7.99 each, plus shipping.

For those preordering the Starter Kit, note that each deck is preconstructed and does not include boosters, so no surprise $600 cards. Instead, you get one traditional foil legendary creature, five brand-new non-foil cards debuting in Magic, and 54 cards from the main set. The kit also includes four non-foil double-sided tokens, two MTG Arena code cards (one per deck), and two deck boxes, all for a remarkable value of $20.

For new Magic: The Gathering players, the Arena code cards are particularly beneficial. You can redeem both decks to play online, offering a chance to learn the game at your own pace through AI matches or competitive play.
