The latest update showcases small icons of four of the eight main characters. Clicking on these icons reveals brief descriptions accompanied by new art from FF9’s character designer, Toshiyuki Itahana, known for his work on the Crystal Chronicles and Chocobo series. These descriptions encapsulate each character’s essence and their narrative objectives.
While no official confirmation has been made, the meticulous attention Square Enix has devoted to this anniversary celebration has led fans to believe that a significant announcement regarding the title might be imminent. Garnet's Silver Necklace is now available for pre-order, with an expected release date of November 15. Priced at approximately 38,500 yen or $260, it's a must-have for collectors. Vivi's hat, which fans can actually wear, is also up for reservation with a target release date of September 6, priced at about 17,600 yen or $120.
The FF9 Acrylic Stand Collection features eight unique designs available in blind boxes, adding an element of surprise for collectors.
