Pocket Gamer recently discovered Dynabytes' Fantasma at Gamescom Latam – a multiplayer augmented reality (AR) GPS adventure game. This exciting title recently received an update adding Japanese, Korean, Malay, and Portuguese language support, with German, Italian, and Spanish coming soon.
The game casts players as hunters of mischievous Fantasma creatures. Using portable electromagnetic fields as bait, players battle these paranormal entities in AR, maneuvering their phones to keep the Fantasma in view while tapping the screen to attack. Defeated Fantasma are then captured in special bottles.
Fantasma's creatures appear based on real-world location, encouraging exploration. Players can also deploy sensors to expand their search radius and even team up with others for a cooperative gameplay experience.
