Emberstoria, Square Enix\'s new Japan-exclusive RPG, launches tomorrow

Emberstoria, a new strategy RPG from Square Enix, launches exclusively in Japan on November 27th. The game, available for pre-download now, features a captivating storyline set in Purgatory, a world where resurrected warriors known as Embers battle monstrous threats.

The game boasts classic Square Enix flair: a dramatic, almost melodramatic narrative, stunning visuals, and a diverse cast of Embers to recruit. Players build their own flying city, Anima Arca, and experience a rich story voiced by over 40 actors. While a Western release isn't confirmed, anticipation is high.

However, recent news regarding the transfer of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent's operations to NetEase raises questions about Square Enix's mobile strategy. This new release could signal a shift in their approach. Emberstoria's future outside Japan remains uncertain; it might stay exclusive, or NetEase could facilitate a global launch. Regardless, a straightforward global release seems unlikely, though not impossible.
