Fans Receive Elden Ring Nightreign Playtest Confirmation Emails
FromSoftware took to their Twitter (X) account on January 30, 2025, to announce that they've sent out confirmation emails to those who applied for the Elden Ring Nightreign network test. Excited fans have been quick to share their confirmation emails on social media, expressing their enthusiasm and gratitude for being selected to participate.
Participants who received their initial confirmation email can expect a follow-up email on February 11, 2025, containing a unique code to download the Network Test client on their preferred platform, which includes PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
FromSoftware opened the registration window for the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test from January 10 to January 20, 2025. Unfortunately, those who applied but did not receive a confirmation email have no further information on additional test dates at this time.
Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test
FromSoftware describes the network test as a "preliminary verification test in which the selected testers play a portion of the game prior to the full game launch." The test aims to conduct large-scale network load tests to verify the online systems and assess the server capabilities to handle multiple players simultaneously.
The Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test is scheduled to run from February 14 to February 16, 2025, with participants able to join five 3-hour sessions:
- Session 1: February 14th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
- Session 2: February 14th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT
- Session 3: February 15th from 11 AM to 2 PM PT
- Session 4: February 16th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
- Session 5: February 16th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT
Scammers and Scalpers Already On The Move
Scammers are already exploiting the excitement around the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test. Reports indicate a scam on Steam where players receive fraudulent invites that redirect to malicious pages, leading to account hacks and mass messaging to friend lists with the same invite. FromSoftware has emphasized that all official communications regarding the playtest are made through their website and social media accounts, so any other links should be considered unauthorized or potentially harmful.
Additionally, scalpers have jumped on the opportunity, with listings appearing on various buy-and-sell sites shortly after FromSoftware's confirmation email announcement. Despite the codes not being available until February 11, scalpers are already offering "confirmed test codes" at exorbitant prices ranging from $150 to $200, with some even up for auction.
Elden Ring Nightreign was first unveiled during The Game Awards 2024, slated for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. FromSoftware has indicated a 2025 release window, though an exact date has not yet been announced.
