Disney Dreamlight Valley's Storybook Vale expansion introduces many new ingredients, some easier to find than others. Mussels, a type of seafood, are a prime example. While described as a tasty mollusk, locating them can be challenging. Unlike other shellfish, Mussels only appear in specific Storybook Vale biomes. Their unpredictable spawn rates add to the difficulty.
Finding Mussels in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Mussels are found on the ground throughout Mythopia, specifically in these areas:
- The Elysian Fields
- The Fiery Plains
- The Statue's Shadow
- Mount Olympus
While some players report easily finding Mussels in these locations, others find them rare and inconsistently distributed. One potential Mussel hotspot is near Trial areas, such as the first Trial in the Elysian Fields (Hades' unlock).
A cluster of Mussels may also appear behind a hidden bush in the Elysian Fields during Hades' "A Moth to a Flame" quest. Unlocking this area might increase Mussel spawns across Mythopia.
Using Mussels in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Unlike some other seafood, Mussels aren't used in crafting. Their primary use is as a cooking ingredient in these recipes:
- Garlic Steam Mussels
- Mussel Risotto
- Steamed Mussels
Alternatively, consume Mussels for a +150 energy boost, or sell them for 75 Gold Star Coins at Goofy's Stalls.
