Cartoon Network Retires 6 Beloved Games from Roster

Warner Bros. Discovery's sudden removal of several Cartoon Network and Adult Swim games has sparked widespread outrage among fans. Without explanation, titles including Steven Universe: Save the Light and Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time have been delisted from digital storefronts like Steam and the Nintendo eShop. This leaves fans unable to legally purchase these beloved games.

At least six games have been affected by this digital purge. The publisher's removal notices offer little to no justification for the decision. This action is consistent with Warner Bros. Discovery's recent cost-cutting measures, which have included shelving films and removing content from streaming services. A similar delisting event occurred in March 2024, targeting Adult Swim games, though some were reinstated following public backlash.

The recent wave of delistings, as reported by Wario64 on Twitter, impacted at least five games on December 23rd, 2024. Affected titles include: Adventure Time: Finn and Jake's Epic Quest, Adventure Time: Magic Man's Head Games, OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes, Steven Universe: Save the Light, Steven Universe: Unleash the Light, and Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time. Steam listings for these games simply state they are no longer available for purchase after December 23rd, 2024.

Delisted Cartoon Network Games:

  • Adventure Time: Finn and Jake's Epic Quest
  • Adventure Time: Magic Man's Head Games
  • OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes
  • Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time
  • Steven Universe: Save the Light
  • Steven Universe: Unleash the Light

It's noteworthy that some Cartoon Network Games, such as Cartoon Network Journeys VR and Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake, remain available. The soundtrack for OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes is also still for sale. Warner Bros. Discovery, Cartoon Network Games, and Adult Swim Games have yet to provide a public explanation for these removals.

Adventure Time: Finn and Jake's Epic Quest, initially released in April 2014, is the oldest game to be delisted. Steven Universe: Save the Light and OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes launched in 2018, while Steven Universe: Unleash the Light followed in 2021. The removal of Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is particularly upsetting to fans, as it contained the canonical ending to the show's fifth season. The lack of warning and explanation has fueled fan anger and criticism of Warner Bros. Discovery's actions.
