Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down
Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the End of Service (EOS) for the game's global version, effective March 28th, 2025. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch.
The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, will continue operation and is preparing for its 1.5th-anniversary celebration in March 2025 – a stark contrast to the global server's closure.
The Shutdown Date:
The global server will officially shut down on March 28th, 2025, ironically coinciding with the Japanese server's 1.5th anniversary. Global players will conclude their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1), while Japanese players will be progressing through Chapter 22 (Part 2).
In-game purchases have been disabled, but remaining Lodestar Gems can still be used until the server closure. Koei Tecmo promises continued content and events leading up to the shutdown.
Reasons for the Shutdown:
The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the reason for the closure. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing about the gacha system, gameplay mechanics, and aggressive monetization strategies, leading to significant power creep.
While the main characters were well-received, these issues ultimately contributed to the decision to shut down the global version. Players can still access the game on the Google Play Store to experience the final events before the server closes.
