Pokémon GO is launching a brand-new event titled *Sweet Discoveries*, and it's bringing the adorable Applin into the game for the very first time. This event is perfect for trainers who love discovering new Pokémon, hunting for shiny variants, or simply enjoying seasonal bonuses. Read on to learn everything you need to know about this limited-time experience.
When Is Applin Debuting in Pokémon GO?
The *Sweet Discoveries* event begins on April 24th at 10:00 a.m. and will run through April 29th at 8:00 p.m. local time. The main highlight of the event is the debut of Applin, a dual-type Grass/Dragon Pokémon hailing from the Galar region.
To evolve Applin, you’ll need 200 Applin Candies along with specific items:
- Evolving into Flapple requires 20 Tart Apples.
- Evolving into Appletun needs 20 Sweet Apples.
- To reach its final evolution, Dipplin, you must evolve Appletun further into Hydrapple.
Here’s where the fun part comes in—Tart Apples, Sweet Apples, and even Applin itself can appear in the wild. Simply tap on them when they show up during your exploration. You'll have a better chance of encountering these special items near Mossy Lure Modules, so be sure to activate one if you're in search of evolution materials!
Did You Know?
Applin lives its entire life inside an apple, using it as both shelter and disguise. It cleverly hides from bird Pokémon—its natural predators—by pretending to be nothing more than a regular fruit. With its charming design and unique behavior, Applin is definitely one of the cutest additions to the Pokémon GO roster.
Event Bonuses and New Avatar Items
During the *Sweet Discoveries* event, players can look forward to several in-game perks:
- 2× Candy when catching Pokémon.
- New avatar items available in the shop: the Applin Headband and the Applin Apron.
- Increased chances of encountering Shiny Delibird and Shiny Skwovet in the wild.
- Better odds of hatching Shiny Delibird, Shiny Cherubi, and Shiny Skwovet from 7 km Eggs.
- Catching Delibird or Skwovet may reward you with extra berries.
If you haven't downloaded Pokémon GO yet, now’s the perfect time to grab it from the Google Play Store and jump into the action!
