La série tristement célèbre Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe fait son retour pour une conclusion explosive. Après avoir vu Wade Wilson massacrer des héros dans des réalités alternatives en 2011 et 2017, le scénariste Cullen Bunn et l'artiste Dalibor Talajić se réunissent pour Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time - cette fois en propageant le carnage à travers tout le multivers Marvel.

IGN s'est entretenu en exclusivité avec Bunn sur l'achèvement de sa trilogie slasher Deadpool. Les pages prévisualisées révèlent Wade affrontant des versions déformées d'icônes Marvel, des Cap-Wolves monstrueux aux Worldbreaker Hulks apocalyptiques.

"Je n'avais jamais imaginé que cela deviendrait une trilogie", admet Bunn. Son pitch initial pour "Deadpool Kills the Marvel Multiverse" se concrétise enfin : "C'est le moment idéal pour cette histoire."

L'équipe créative intensifie le spectacle en opposant Deadpool à des variantes multiverselles méconnues. "Nous avons créé l'histoire Deadpool la plus épique jamais vue", tease Bunn. Bien que discret sur les détails, il confirme que des dizaines de personnages oubliés feront leur retour après des décennies.

Contrairement aux histoires autonomes précédentes - l'une avec un Wade nihiliste et l'autre avec un Deadpool sous contrôle mental - cette finale introduit des fils narratifs surprenants. "Les lecteurs attentifs repèreront des connexions", laisse entendre Bunn, tout en assurant que les nouveaux lecteurs peuvent plonger directement.

Plus intriguant encore, Bunn suggère que ce Deadpool pourrait être le tueur le plus sympathique à ce jour : "Et si nous espérions réellement qu'il réussisse ?" L'auteur promet une profondeur psychologique sous l'hémoglobine, concluant : "Attendez que les lecteurs comprennent son état d'esprit."
