Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has revealed the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the 2025 Xbox game showcase season. The first Xbox Developer Direct debuted in January 2023, with a second following in January 2024.

The 2025 event will begin at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating around a January 9th reveal.

Confirmed Games for Xbox Developer Direct 2025:

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, initially announced in June 2024, and playable at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is currently rumored.
South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (Contrast, We Happy Few), first unveiled in June 2023. A release date is anticipated.

While these three titles are confirmed, previous Developer Directs (lasting over 40 minutes each) have featured multiple games. The 2024 event highlighted Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, expect potential additional surprises at the January 23rd showcase.
