Nintendo's Japanese retail launch of the Alarmo alarm clock is officially delayed due to supply chain challenges. Read on for details about the postponement and future availability.
Japan Release Postponed
Production Shortages Delay Launch
Nintendo Japan announced a postponement of the Alarmo's general release, originally scheduled for February 2025. The delay, attributed to production and inventory issues, pushes the launch to a later, unspecified date. Currently, there's no word on whether this impacts international availability, with a global consumer release still planned for March 2025.
In the interim, Nintendo is offering a pre-order system exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. Pre-orders open mid-December, with shipments beginning in early February 2025. The exact pre-order start date will be announced soon.
Nintendo's Popular Alarm Clock
Launched globally in October, the Alarmo—an interactive alarm clock featuring iconic Nintendo soundtracks from franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and Ring Fit Adventure—quickly exceeded expectations. Its popularity led to the suspension of online orders and a lottery system for remaining stock. The Alarmo sold out immediately in Japanese and New York Nintendo stores.
