This substantial free update introduces a host of gameplay enhancements, control refinements, and quality-of-life improvements, significantly elevating the experience of this classic strategy game that made its Android debut in 2018. Fans of the standalone expansions, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, can look forward to receiving the same update next week, ensuring a cohesive gaming experience across the series.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update incorporates some of the finest features from Feral's newer mobile titles, such as Total War: MEDIEVAL II and EMPIRE. Players can now enjoy three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These enhancements offer improved unit command and battle precision. With the new control system, you can effortlessly move your armies, agents, or fleets by simply tapping and holding, eliminating the need for manually dragging paths.

Positioning Mode allows for precise unit placement adjustments through a tap-and-hold mechanism. The Group Grid feature simplifies unit group management with a convenient collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode enables ranged units to seamlessly transition to close combat when necessary.

A standout feature of the update is the Command Slowdown, which automatically reduces game speed during the execution of complex commands, aiding in strategic decision-making. Additionally, for the first time, keyboard and mouse support has been integrated for Android and iPad users, enhancing the control options available to players.
