DOOM launched on Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter

The DOOM community never ceases to amaze with its innovative experiments across various platforms. Recently, a tech-savvy enthusiast named NyanSatan successfully ran the iconic shooter DOOM on Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter. This adapter operates on its own firmware, which is based on iOS and powered by a processor with a frequency of up to 168 MHz. To achieve this feat, NyanSatan first accessed the firmware and then ran the game, using a MacBook to transfer the firmware due to the adapter's lack of memory.

In other exciting news, the upcoming DOOM: The Dark Ages promises to enhance player accessibility and customization. The game will allow players to adjust the aggression of demons through its settings, aiming to make the shooter more accessible than ever before. According to executive producer Marty Stratton, id Software is focused on making the game as inclusive as possible. Players will have the ability to modify numerous aspects, including enemies' damage and difficulty, the speed of projectiles, the amount of damage they receive, and other features like the game's tempo, level of aggression, and parry time.

Stratton also emphasized that players do not need prior experience with DOOM: The Dark Ages to understand the storylines of both DOOM: The Dark Ages and DOOM: Eternal, ensuring that the game remains accessible to newcomers and seasoned players alike.
