The strategic tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ending its global mobile run. While the Japanese version will continue, the international servers are officially shutting down. Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game, based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, launched globally in September 2023 and will cease operations on August 29th, 2024.
Closure Date and Details:
Code Geass: Lost Stories' global servers will be unavailable after August 29th, 2024. Account access will be terminated on this date, and all official social media channels will also close. In-app purchases and new downloads are already disabled.
Reasons for Shutdown:
While the developers haven't publicly stated the reasons, low download numbers and generally unfavorable global reviews are likely contributing factors. Many anime gacha games struggle to maintain a significant player base outside Japan due to lower spending habits. The game's relatively short lifespan reflects these challenges.
For Japanese Players:
The game remains available on the Japanese Google Play Store for those interested in experiencing it.
