The beloved RPG adventure management game, *The Tale of Food*, which features charmingly personified food characters, is sadly reaching its end. Initially launched for a closed beta in China in September 2019 and later distributed by Tencent Games, this unique game has captured the hearts of many players worldwide. Here's everything you need to know about the impending shutdown of *The Tale of Food*.
When Is the The Tale of Food Shutdown?
The game, where players command an army of handsome, personified dishes, is set to officially shut down on March 20th, 2025, at 10:00 AM (UTC+8). As of today, February 18th, in-game purchases have been disabled. New player registrations have also been halted, and the game has been removed from the Google Play Store. However, if you've already downloaded the game, you can continue enjoying it until the servers close on the aforementioned date.
What About the Jewels Collected in the Game?
If you purchased any jewels between January 9th and February 18th, 2025, you're eligible for a refund. To claim your refund, reach out to in-game support or email the developers before March 20th. For more details on the terms and conditions of the shutdown, visit the official X (formerly Twitter) account of *The Tale of Food*.
It's worth noting that the Japan server of *The Tale of Food* shut down in April 2023, followed by the China server in June 2024. Now, the global version is following suit.
