Sony supprime progressivement les jeux PlayStation 4 des offres mensuelles PlayStation Plus Essentials et du Catalogue de jeux à partir de janvier 2026, marquant une transition complète vers le contenu PlayStation 5.

Une Nouvelle Ère Commence

L'annonce a été faite parallèlement aux révélations des jeux mensuels de février 2025, signalant l'évolution de la stratégie de Sony pour ses services d'abonnement. L'époque où les jeux PS4 dominaient les avantages de PlayStation Plus est révolue.

"Alors que nous entrons dans l'ère de la PS5, les jeux PS4 deviendront une offre occasionnelle plutôt qu'un élément régulier des Jeux Mensuels PlayStation Plus et du Catalogue de jeux", a expliqué Sony. Les jeux PS4 déjà ajoutés par les abonnés restent accessibles, tandis les sélections du Catalogue de jeux suivront les politiques de rotation habituelles.

Se Concentrer sur la Nouvelle Génération

Sony a souligné son engagement à améliorer PlayStation Plus : "Nous améliorons l'expérience PlayStation Plus avec des avantages premium - des remises exclusives, l'accès au multijoueur, les sauvegardes dans le cloud, et surtout, du contenu dédié à la PS5 à l'avenir."

La PlayStation 4 est sortie en 2013, remplacée sept ans plus tard par la PlayStation 5 en 2020. La majorité des utilisateurs actifs utilisant désormais le matériel de la génération actuelle, Sony constate un net changement vers la consommation de contenu PS5.

Bien que Sony n'ait pas confirmé si les classiques de la PS4 pourraient migrer vers le Catalogue des Classiques, les fans peuvent s'attendre à des mises à jour à l'approche de la transition de 2026.
