Pendant des années, les fans du jeu d'action granuleux Kane & Lynch, développé à l'origine par le Hitman Studio IO Interactive et sorti en 2007, ont gardé l'espoir d'une adaptation grand écran. Selon les rumeurs, le projet comportait diverses stars hollywoodiennes à différentes étapes de développement.

Cette semaine, Timo Tjahjanto, le directeur de Nobody 2 , a partagé sur les réseaux sociaux qu'il avait conçu un traitement pour le film de Kane & Lynch, envisageant David Harbor, connu pour ses rôles de Jim Hopper dans Stranger Things et Red Guardian dans Thunderbolts / New Avengers , comme l'un des plombs. "Je n'ai jamais vu de script, mais il y a quelques années où cette propriété était encore un peu chaude. J'ai écrit un court traitement avec James Badge Dale et David Harbor", a écrit Tjahjanto. "Je ne suis jamais allé nulle part."

Le traitement de Tjahjanto, un document qui décrit le concept du film pour la considération en studio avant le développement d'un script complet, rejoint une liste d'autres idées non produites pour le film.

Auparavant, le projet avait été lié à Bruce Willis et Jamie Foxx, mais les deux acteurs sont partis alors que le script a subi de nombreuses révisions. Plus tard, une autre itération du film aurait la star de Gerard Butler et Vin Diesel, mais cela aussi.

Après la sortie de la suite moins bien reçue, Kane & Lynch: Dog Days en 2010, IO Interactive a déplacé leur concentration vers la série Hitman, mettant efficacement la franchise Kane & Lynch sur le brûleur arrière.
