Les joueurs de Fortnite étaient en émoi le 6 août lorsque le skin très recherché Paradigm est apparu de manière inattendue dans la boutique d'objets du jeu. Ce skin a été initialement publié en exclusivité à durée limitée dans le chapitre 1 de la saison X et n'est pas disponible à l'achat depuis cinq ans.

Fortnite a rapidement précisé que l'apparence du skin était "due à un bug" et a annoncé son intention de le retirer des casiers des joueurs et de les rembourser. Cependant, après avoir fait face à des réactions négatives de la communauté, les développeurs ont fait un demi-tour surprenant.

Dans un tweet publié deux heures après l'annonce initiale, Fortnite a déclaré que les joueurs ayant acheté le skin Paradigm pourraient le conserver. "Vous avez acheté Paradigm ce soir ? Vous pouvez la garder", a déclaré le développeur. "Son retour inattendu au magasin était de notre faute... donc si vous avez acheté Paradigm lors de la rotation de ce soir, vous pouvez garder le costume et nous vous rembourserons bientôt

Pour conserver l'exclusivité pour les joueurs qui ont initialement acheté ce skin, Fortnite s'engage à créer une nouvelle variante qui leur est unique.
