"Juego de BLADE Runner de próxima generación desechado hasta Dawn Studio"

Los juegos supermasivos, reconocidos por sus apasionantes aventuras de terror, como hasta Dawn, The Quarry y The Dark Pictures Anthology, ha detenido el desarrollo en un juego no anunciado en el universo Blade Runner. Según Insider Gaming, Supermassive estaba elaborando una "aventura de acción centrada en el personaje" titulada Blade Runner: Time to Live, que habría explorado la vida del último Runner de Blade en el año 2065. La narración se preparó para girar en un modelo antiguo de Nexus-6 llamado So-Lange, encargado con la eliminación de la red de una red de replicante subterránea. Sin embargo, la traición lleva a So-Lange a dejar muerto en un ambiente duro. Se planeó que el juego abarque elementos de sigilo, combate, exploración, investigación e intensas interacciones de carácter.

Insider Gaming informó que el proyecto tenía un fuerte presupuesto de desarrollo de aproximadamente $ 45 millones, con $ 9 millones asignados específicamente para la captura de rendimiento externo y el talento de actuación. El juego estaba programado para presentar una historia para un jugador de 10-12 horas, con una preproducción a partir de septiembre de 2024 y una fecha de lanzamiento específica de septiembre de 2027 para PC y consolas actuales y de próxima generación. Sin embargo, el proyecto supuestamente se desintegró debido a complicaciones con Alcon Entertainment, el titular de los derechos de Blade Runner, lo que resultó en su cancelación a fines del año pasado.

En otras noticias del juego de Blade Runner, el editor Annapurna Interactive reveló en el verano de 2023 que estaba trabajando en su primer juego interno, Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth, marcando el primer juego de Blade Runner en 25 años.
