After two failed launches and months of anticipation, Rune Slayer has arrived, and it's fantastic! While incredibly fun, the game has a steep learning curve, especially for MMORPG newcomers. Fear not, this guide will help you conquer your Rune Slayer journey.

Here are some crucial tips we wish we'd known earlier to make the experience smoother.
Don't Randomly Attack Other Players
Screenshot by The EscapistInitial fears of Rune Slayer's full-loot PvP proved unfounded (mostly). Death doesn't mean losing your items, even in player-versus-player combat. You simply respawn and continue. However, attacking players earns you a bounty. The more kills, the larger your bounty, and the more items you drop upon your own death. Essentially, full-loot PvP is self-inflicted. Unless you're prepared for a high-stakes fight, or have a group for backup, avoid attacking other players.
Craft Bags Immediately
Screenshot by The EscapistYou'll quickly discover severely limited bank and inventory space. While 50 slots might seem generous, they fill up incredibly fast. Thankfully, you can craft bags! Equip up to two at once, starting with the Cotton Bag. Find Cotton north of Wayshire and Flax south (be wary of tougher mobs in the south). Each Cotton Bag adds 10 valuable slots—craft them ASAP.
Your Pets Don't Actually Die
Screenshot by The EscapistContrary to belief, your pets don't perish when their health reaches zero. Instead, they become unavailable for five minutes. Check the cooldown by holding T. After five minutes, simply hold T again to resummon them. Bonus: Quickly heal your pet by storing and retrieving it at the stable master (you have one free slot).
Accept Every Quest
Screenshot by The EscapistRune Slayer boasts a plethora of quests, most non-repeatable and forgettable. They're largely the standard "kill X" variety. To streamline your progress, accept every quest you encounter, including those from the job board. You'll often find quests conveniently combine, leading to unexpected efficiency.
Craft Everything at Least Once

Join a Guild
Rune Slayer is solo-friendly, but tougher enemies, especially those with high health, require teamwork. Guilds provide the easiest way to find groups. Shout in general chat, or use the official Rune Slayer Discord to find a guild and tackle challenging foes together.
That's it! Enjoy Rune Slayer! For further assistance, check out the Rune Slayer Trello and Discord.
