Infinity Nikki Update 1.5 Sparks Outrage, Players Threaten to Quit

Authore: LoganUpdate:May 23,2025

Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have arrived on Steam, but the launch has been overshadowed by a series of technical issues, design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. Infold Games' stylish dress-up adventure, which was previously exclusive to the Epic Game Store, hit Valve's digital platform yesterday. Instead of a joyous celebration, fans were met with a myriad of problems that have sparked significant backlash. The developers have issued an apology and promised compensation, but the struggle for Infinity Nikki continues.

PC players eagerly awaiting the Steam release of Infinity Nikki were disappointed by crashes and instability that prevented the game from launching smoothly. While technical issues at launch are not uncommon, the influx of players also brought attention to other concerns. The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each requiring 11 pieces to complete, has caused uproar. Players are facing up to 220 pulls and significant expenditure to collect these sets, a stark increase from the usual expectations.

Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, leaving the community bewildered. Amid these technical difficulties and the introduction of more demanding monetization practices, Chinese players took to the social media platform RedNote to voice their frustrations. The issue quickly escalated into a global movement, with players calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, urging others to leave negative reviews and uninstall the game across all platforms.

"Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players," said Reddit user kiaxxl in a call-to-action post. This sentiment echoes the broader concern among players about the game's direction, particularly as the success of new content is often gauged by early spending patterns.

The community's response has been impactful, with Infinity Nikki currently holding a "Mixed" rating on Steam due to negative reviews from players warning others to steer clear until their demands are met. The situation escalated to the point where Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising improved communication regarding future adjustments.

Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience

Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho

In the apology, Infold announced plans to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season on the same day. Players will receive compensation in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While some see this as a victory, others are still concerned about the persistence of 11-piece outfits and the future of the game's monetization.

I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Despite the quick response from Infold, the community remains vigilant. "Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will **be** 11 pieces," Reddit user EdensAsmr said. The fear is that future updates could demand even more from players, necessitating prolonged saving and increased spending.
