Gaijin Entertainment a lancé la version bêta ouverte des combats aériens dans War Thunder Mobile, offrant des combats aériens intenses. Cette mise à jour introduit plus de 100 avions de trois pays (et d'autres à venir !), élargissant le jeu au-delà de sa précédente implication dans les avions navals et au sol. Un mode dédié axé sur l'air et un arbre technologique aérien complet sont désormais disponibles.

Actuellement, les joueurs peuvent piloter des avions des États-Unis, d'Allemagne et d'URSS, avec des avions emblématiques tels que le P-51 Mustang, le Messerschmitt Bf 109 et le La-5.
